School Representative
                                                                           Take Action!!

Many parents have contacted us, wondering what they can do to be a part of positive changes for high school dancing.

Here are our suggestions:

Prayer - For God's direction.
Chaperone - Find out how you can chaperone at local school dances.
Education- Equip your children by making sure they know how to dance - (fast and slow) by instructing them personally, signing them up for lessons, or encouraging them to come to community swing dancing events (see Home page).
Community - Promote awareness of the positive alternatives to typical high school dancing, and be the change you want to see in your community.
High School - Contact your local High School about ways to help promote positive alternatives.
Dress - Make sure your students are dressed modestly for dances.
Area Dance Clubs - Some schools, like Brighton HS & Hartland Middle School at Ore Creek now have student run clubs teaching swing dancing with popular music after school. Check them out!
Defense - Make sure your children know how to defend themselves if faced with other students who may attempt to "dance on" them.
Research - Seek out communities that have succeeded, and follow their lead.
** Dance Sponsorship**
Any organization interested in sponsoring one of our community dances will receive proceeds from the event. Sponsorship is a great way for organizations to promote their own group events & ideas, too, while being a part of our growing movement and having loads of student fun. If you have any questions or concerns about High School Dancing, or are looking for some students who are willing to do dance instruction in your area, please feel free to contact the Dance Project student leaders at our email - thedanceproject@live.com
